Default console removal

I just purchased my "new" to me 2007 ES 350 (my first Lexus....finally gave up on General Motors). I would like to install a sirius reciever/tuner somewhere on dash. I'm looking for help in removing the dash/console panels to allow access to the inside of the dash/console area. I would also be interested in how anybody else has done a similar installation.
I would also like to add a couple 12V "receptacles" near the lower instrument panel area. Is there a convenient place to find a 12V supply?
Thank you...I'm a newbie at the moment but will be happy to share knowledge as I gain experience myself.

There are also step-by-step instructions with pictures for removing the center console (head) unit in the Nav Hack sticky in this forum. It will get you most of the way.

Unless you are not a klutz (I am) or experienced, DON'T. You run a risk af ruinng something that you will see on a daily basis. Get a pro to do it. An ounce of prevention....

If you're not set on getting a specific receiver and are willing to pay ~$300, you can get the factory accessory which installs in the rear quarter panel and plugs into the factory harness. It takes only a couple of hours to do it the first time.

The 12V power line feeding the cigarette lighter can be easily accessed, and you can get 3M splices from Home Depot that look like red plastic clips and snap on the wires to connect them - no soldering required. IIRC, this is how you disassemble the ES350 center console:

* Apply parking brake. Shut off engine. Pop up shift lock release cover from shifter bezel and push screwdriver in hole while moving shifter to N
* Unscrew wooden shifter ****
* Pull off plastic horizontal trim panel that surrounds gear shifter; it lifts up and then can be moved backward. Having shifter in N allows panel to clear shifter lever.
* Disconnect wiring harnesses from cigarette lighter and ashtray light
* Wire your accessories and reassemble
