I just bought a pre-owned Lexus ES 350, it came with two keys, the keys look the same, however one works and the other doesn't. The one that works automatically unlocks the car when u put ur hand to the door and keyless start works as well. From the key I can use all the buttons (unlock, lock, trunk, and panic) Now with the key that doesn't work...none of the buttons work, so there is no way to unlock the car unless you have the working key. However once I'm in the car and only have the "unworking" key if I try to start it the car won't start, but the screen tells me to hold the key next to the start button, if I do this the car will start....so I know the car recognizes the key, but why doesn't anything else work?? Any suggestions or advice would be helpful.
Sounds like a low/dead battery in the fob. If you have the owners manual there are instructions on replacing the battery. It's easy. Radio Shack etc. have batteries.

That certainly does sound like a battery.
If that doesn't do the trick the fob will probably have to be reprogrammed
