Default 2 QUESTION ON ES350. help.

1. CAN STEERING WHEEL BUTTON BE REPLACE?? ITS WORN.
2. I need to replace my cluster due to crack on clear plastic cover.
can i buy one from ebay with similar milage?
i know that cluster may need to be reprogrammed to insure accuracy.
Some vehicles hold their mileage in the engine computer and not in the cluster.

any suggestion?

I've never looked at the Lexus lens but on most other cars you can simply relpace the lens and not the whole cluster.

I don't know how many miles are on your car but your dealer may warranty or "goodwill" the repair which I understand involves more than just the buttons. This was a known problem with pre-2010 ES's and they will probably take care of you.

Enjoy the car.

How exactly did you crack the cluster? If the car is that abused, then no dealer would cover replacement. No dealer is going to re-program an odometer, as it is illegal. You need to replace the cluster cover only and leave the factory odometer. Do not change it. If you throw in a 30k unit and leave it be, you just committed a felony. That is treated the same as odometer roll-back. They might cover the steering wheel....maybe.

I think it would be a felony if you tried to pass it off with the wrong mileage. If you present it stating "the odometer says ...... but it acually has ......" then you're O.K. Mileage must present correctly when doing the paperwork aswell.
