Hello there, I am working on a forever long project, and I need to find out if other 93 ES' came with a fuel pump relay in the fuse locations. because mine does not have the relay? the car is currently not starting, and it doesn't seem to get fuel. so I'm just working from there.

Thanks
Charley

No, the fuel pump relay is not located in the fuse box. The relay you are looking for is called the "circuit opening relay" and it is mounted next to the ECM. I would suggest checking the pump instead, because it is MUCH easier to access. If you lift the rear seat bottom cushion, you will see a access panel (app 8" dia). Once you lift that off, you will be looking at the top of the fuel tank / fuel pump.

I've already done that. But i don't know hoe to test it. The car has been sitting for months inside the garage like that.

Can you hear the fuel pump running for a few seconds when you turn the key to the RUN position? You should be able to hear it easily, especially if the seat is up. What makes you believe that it is not getting fuel?

Not really. I hear it with my 97ES. I also tried the diagnostic box by wiring in at the +b and fp ports of the diagnostics box cennected to the shock tower. Btw the connectors seem to have a bunch of electrical type of grease on them. Does his seem correct?
Checked timing belt. Its still good.
i thought it was fuel because ilthe car used to St for about 2 years or so. And every few months i would bring the car out of the garage to work on. It had the same fuel for about 2.5 years before i put in a little more.

The grease is normal, it is used for corrosion control ( I believe). When you jumped +B to fp, did you have the key on? This test bypasses the circuit opening relay. The only other thing left would be to check for voltage right at the pump. I sounds like the pump is probably bad.

yes, today i tried the starter fluid method. it seems to be the pump, because I had my mom(lol, she thought she was gonna blow up, i told her to not worry, if it does ill run away faster than ever) start the car while i held open the throttle body and gave a few squirts of starter fluid. the car started, not strong -more like stumbled, but it did start. this was better than before, because it would just crank but not start whatsoever. so now my quest continues and hopefully ill have this b*Tch sl*t tr*#k out for shows soon.

wish me luck
btw, thanks for the help george.

Did you figure out what the issue is? Have a 93 no priming, engine spins, gas gauge reading below e, and it's been sitting for 10 years. Thinking it has a bad pump but don't want to throw parts at it 😂
