Aftermarket navi
My wife's (new to us) 2007 ES350 does not have factory nav, but that is something she misses. I've found two aftermarket units:
http://www.dvdgpsnavigation.com/LEXU...Game_p656.html
and
http://www.caradvanced.com/products/...dy%2C-etc.html
They are both supposed to be completely plug and play with custom harness connections for the HVAC controls. The prices are drastically different one is about $500 while the other is about $2000.
Anybody ever seen these or have other solutions?
Thanks.

This is a great example of why you don't purchase base model cars. When you are buying a used car, there is no reason not to get highly desirable options, such as Navi/Back-up cam. Seeing that you already made the poor choice to get a base model, your best best would be purchase a nice new Garmin GPS unit. Spending $500-2000 plus installation on a unit that is fixed to the car is a complete waste of money. Nobody wants to buy a used ES with an aftermarket Navi system installed, nor would they pay any more money for it.
I wish I could offer some help, but dont have any knowledge on these aftermarket prods.
As far as Minis..one thing I will say he is very consistent. He's had a hard life obviously, may life only get better.

You may want to look at this:

The reviews have been good.

With all of them, you'll have to get use to a slew of whole new buttons to control the AC. Whichever unit has backup camera option, I'd go with that.
Miniz has a point, if you wanted NAV why not just get an ES350 with the NAV? I know that this way you save a little bit, but the hassle of rewiring and stuff.
Anyway, a much better option than getting a NUVI... and I would not say you won't get some return on the investment when you sell. Honestly, most buyers with this integrated system might not even realize it's not factory.

Thanks for the input guys.
The flyaudio.net system looks identical to one of those I posted, but cheaper, so thanks for that link!
As far as why we didn't get one with factory navi - well, this car was a great buy and she said she didn't need it (and she really doesn't), but it is something I know she wants, so in lieu of buying another car, this is really the only choice I see.
I'm just trying to do something nice for my wife.

I have a Tom Tom portable 5" screen GPS in my '07 Impala SS. Works as well as the in- dash OEM on our '07 ES350 Ultra.
Had the power cord on the Tom Tom routed under the dash and pops out in the center console, connecting to the cigarette lighter when needed.

We offer the FlyAudio to the Club Lexus community and it has been a huge success on the IS 250/350's. Also, we offer US based support and a warranty. Our system falls between $1000 and $2000. If you are interested in more details, shoot me a PM. Goodluck!
