Alrrright...... I gotta problem.

I took the old amp out, and I figured out what wires are for which speakers on both the input and outputs going in and out of the stock amp.

But which wires are the other ones? I've searched all day on the forums and I can't find a single diagram or list that tells which function the other wires going in and out of the stock harness (other than the speaker wires).... which ones are power... ground... etc?

I've heard that Crutchfield has schematics for the audio in most vehicles. I think you get them free for your vehicle if you buy components from them. I saw the Crutchfield schematic they sent for my friend's Avalon, it looked pretty thorough.

Hmmm Crutchfield, like many things, is very good in theory however they very rarely help us lexus owners. Most people have complained crutchfield sends them stuff for the camry of our model year... close, but no cigar...

here is the diagram... how come you have no engine noise, where did you ground your ground wire?

I'm still kinda confused about it myself
I don't think I changed where the ground was, I just took the old amp out entirely...

have you done that yet?

maybe tonight after I mount it i'll try to fill you in on more details...

Amp's in, everythins in one piece, running great, still no engine noise. Does anyone know where I can get some carpet that might match the grey trunk interior so I can cover the amp mounting? where do people get carpet for that stuff anyway?

Ok... What's with the air conditoner light going off... I'm not liking that. When I put the head unit part back in, half of it was gone...

Thank God it dims from the right in a cool cascading effect so it almost looks neat like that... but still , now I can't see the time...

That kinda sucks..... but it's all good... like I said it looks kinda cool.

I need to find out the real speaker size of the door speakers... if anyone knows, just tell me.

I think I'm gonna run some neon around my amp.... make it fancy... after I find some carpet...

Ok, first off you can buy bags of carpet at your local best buy install bay. It matches the trunk exactly. Second my Air conditioning light also went out the day I put in my new deck also. I tried to replace the bulb, and when I could not do that and put it back in the other side went out. Third, the size of the speakers in the door are 6 1/2. I had to do a lot of cutting to the factory speaker brace, but they are in there now. Get some components, they will sound nice. If you have anymore quistoins, let me know.

Wait why would you have to cut the bracing if they're 6 1/2? Shouldn't they fit? Are they not true six and a half?

Second........ bags of carpet at best buy install bay? that match perfectly? I sure hope you're right, it sounds like a dream come true. I'll check it out tommorow..

joe, where should i reground at, right now the amp is grouned to the metal behind the seat. just a big flat peice, do i need to find a support brace or tower somewhere?, oh and i have distortion at high sound in the really high pitch notes, is that because my speakers can't handle my amp?
