no. I have black leather and the bottom of the shift **** is black leather and the top is wood. I'll take another pic and post it here.

when you say leather redone, what do you mean. i found someplace that reconditions my leather for $60-80. and it looks like new, but they dont replace anything. ive had it done once before, going to go again soon

guys i have a 1997 es300 and i Was wondering how do you take apart the shifter? I allready pulled the bottom of the handle down but when i try to pull the whole thing off the OD wire doesnt let me also on the back of the shifter there is a small rectangular area which looks like it could be pulled off but it doesnt come off

Taking the whole **** out is a bit of a pain. So I trust you slid the stalk cover down, took out the two screws...you want to pull the shift handle out now...

You have to pull the wiring out with the OD switch. You will need to take the console trim off, and release the terminals for the OD switch wires from the plug from the shifter. That is the only way the wires will fit through so you can pull the handle out.

The little plate on the back of the shifter, that pops out to pull the OD switch out of the handle but only once you have removed it from the car and you can pull the wires through.
