Okay well I had a whole post telling my story so I'm going to try to sum it up instead of retyping the whole thing

1.) CEL came on last week, poked around popped hood heard buzzing from MAF sensor as if water was touching something electric. Decided to keep driving as everything seemed to be normal besides that.

2.)Filled up gas this week, drove for about 10 miles, CEL turned off so I figured the gas cap was loose which was why it went off. The buzzing continues to come from the MAF sensor but the car seems fine.

3.) I'm not sure if it is relevant to anything but I can now rev my car while rolling in DRIVE.... I'll be rolling above 30 mph and I'll tap the gas pedal and it will rev the car with out pushing it forward.. sometimes up to 4000 rpms. It is almost the same as if I popped it into neutral and revved it while rolling. Could this have to do with me adjusting the throttle kick down cable like in the free mod series? I do kind of enjoy revving my engine while rolling because of my intake/exhaust note but this can't be healthy for the car.. help?

 

yea sounds like the throttle cable that or its your clutch i dont know if you have an auto or manual but anytime it usually does that it means that the clutch is not gripping properly its common in manuals when the clutch starts going out but can happen in automatics too. you may wanna get the clutch checked

 

revving while in gear is a good way to roast your torque converter. Hell, even revving in neutral messes the thing up. get that thing looked at fast!

 

Have you considered looking at the trans oil level? I would suggest doing this before driving it any further, if you continue to drive it while it is running this way you will roast the trans.

 

Tonight I got into my car and started it, and my CEL was on, check rear lights light came on, and my reverse was illuminated. I shifted into drive and the reverse just stays on no matter what gear I'm in. My tails were all out on the trunk lid(I had this problem fixed before, it was a bunch of wires that got torn up and I had the wires fixed, everything was fine until tonight). Everything happened at once. Ever since I did the throttle kick down cable free mod the car has been shifting harder, but tonight it was shifting VERY hard in a slipping type feel. Help please? I don't know how the tail lights and the rest of the problems all happened at once and I don't know how the two would be connected...

 

"Free" mods are rarely free.

try putting it back the way it was before. what's the code it's throwing?

 

did you check the fluid level? has it ever been changed?
what was the "mod" you did?
how many miles?


i sure hope the trans isn't shot...

I haven't checked the fluid level.
The mod was phoenix's tranny shifting mod.

Today I noticed that when the lights are off the reverse light is fine. CEL is still on.
