Possible alternator problem
hi, my aftermarket sub amp keeps cutting out whenever i bump. this just happened recently. the power on the amp shuts off then it turns back on. could it be the amp thats the problem? or can it be the alternator?

sounds like u need to rewire ur system.
the alternator would not do anything to that all it does is charge the battery so
check ur power and ground sense ur amp is turning off
if it was me i would check all wires like unhook everything and clean it up
make it look nice should do the fix
could also be ur remote cable so just check all the connections to be sure

How many rated watts are you running?
How old is the amp?
What gauge wiring are you running?
How old is the wiring?
If you're sure that you are using the correct gauge wiring, I would first check the ground wire.
Wherever you bolted the ground down to, go ahead and sand down the paint and make sure you are getting a clean connection.
Make sure your remote and power wire are good as well.
Make sure you have everything wired at the right ohms.
