The problem with LFB is that it encourages excessive brake wear since it is possible to have both the gas a brake pedal depressed at the same time. When I started learning how to drive 20 odd years ago it was a definite no no. I don't do it now and never will. The day I can't get my foot off the gas in time to hit the brake is the day I give up driving. Just take it easy around town.

Yes, it is possible to drive with your foot on the brake and gas pedal at the same time. It is also possible to drive with the emergency brake on. But, I usually don't do either one.

The very few times that I do is when there are a lot of people around my car and that fraction of a second could prevent an accident.

If you have been driving for 20 years I wouldn't switch. Your habits have been formed. I have been driving for over 50 years braking with the left foot and never regretted once. To each his own.

49 years here with my 1st car a little stick shift Triumph TR3. I've had standards as well as my wife until 1989 when we bought my wife a new Volvo (still have it). I still had a standard myself until I bought a Jag back in 95. I would heal/toe the stick and when I went to AT would left foot brake. Still do with the ES but I also still have a 5 speed toy to play with. Have fun
