Default Please Help me Identify
When looking at the engine from the passengers side, below and to the left of the timing belt cover there is a wire that goes to a plug there. The wire is blue and black(but has black wrapping around it). I found that mine has been cut in half. Anybody know what this is?

FYI, bro, but your going to have to give year and model of your car and maybe even a picture so the guys on here can help you out. And welcome to CL. I dont know to much about engines, but have learned alot from the others on here. We are all here to help and learn from each other.

Sorry about that, I guess I was to excited to submit my first post.

I dont have a pic at the moment.

Its a 2001 ES300 with 71500 miles on it.

Got it to work, Changed the URL

Is it just one single wire in that cover. Black with a blue stripe?

Yes it is. Only 1 wire. The plug says 11468 on it.

i can't at the moment, but will try later.

Right below it is a power steering hose and to the left thats the firewall. Not sure if that helps, but I'll seee if I cant get a better pic

From what I CAN see, looks like the Power steering pressure switch. Is the component it plugs into on the power steering pump, or line?

Those shiny aluminum lines are AC lines.

I don't think it is, but its hard to tell because of where its located. At least it doesn't look like the pictures of those switches when I google them. Thanks for looking.

The oil pressure switch is located in front of the timing cover near the alternator i believe.

my best guess is your PCV hose and PCV valve

a better picture with an arrow on it would be a great help to those helping you ....please

JSM1284 You were correct. Thank you very much. Its the Power Steering Pressure Switch. I tested by turning the wheel at idle and the RPM's did not bump up, instead they dropped. I believe this is the function of that switch, to bump up the RPM's when turning the wheel. Is it vital that I replace it?
