Default 2007 ES 350 windshield replacement

Looking at windshield replacement for the ES 350 with rain sensor glass and no panoramic roof. Any suggestions? Why is the dealer glass $1000 more than anyone else? After calling PGW and Pilkington and Lexus...none seem to have the specs. Only Pilkington told me the glass weighs 30 lbs and the glass is 13.98 sq ft.

I can't tell you why, but the rain sensing wipers would not work with the Pilkington on a LS430.

The factory installed Lexus glass is acoustically treated to help quiet the interior. the aftermarkets are not.

Can't tell the difference with non Lexus winhshield but the glass installer said the aftermarket windshield he installed in our car costs $1400 and we had a $50 deductible.

Hopefully you have continued success with the aftermarket. For an item like the windshield, go to the dealer. Use insurance, but dealer is peace of mind in this case. If anything would come up, Lexus would take care of it, if purchased through them.
