what everyone else said...behind the glove box. You're going to have to take out the glove box to get access to it. A couple of screws here and there, nothing too complicated.

The best way to get this is to subscribe to the Toyota-Lexus on-line technical info system. You can access this for $10.00 per day. Find the radio wiring diagram and print out what you need.

This website is: www.techinfo.toyota.com.

look in the DIY thread at the top of this forum. There are links to how to get to the amplifier and the wiring diagram for the stock amplifier. No need to pay for information when its already on this forum for free.

epic bump on this thread, but nevertheless:

can someone give an indication of where to look for the amplifier? need to connect to its ground, so any help on location of amp and location of its ground would be awesome.

Thanks

off to the right side... there's one 10mm bolt holding it in place from the front and one from underneath if i recall.

It was a pain trying to find the second when i pulled one of these at a Junkyard months ago to have as a spare.

It should be right there:

That looks a little different than my 01 I think, at any rate it is a vertical mounted box with the plugs facing at you, there should be 3 plugs going into it. You can unplug them and verify it takes out your stereo.

I don't have my service manual handy to look at the pinout to tell you which one is ground but you could test that with a DVM.

Thanks for the info! I ended up finding the ground (brown wire) in a wiring diagram in the manual and traced it to behind the paneling by the passenger's left leg.
