Default Startup issue

Hey All,
Just wanted to raise an issue that my mother down in Florida is having with her 2007. I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced it. Periodically, the car just completely would not start- no click or anything. At times she would be in the garage or out at the store, hot or cold engine. The dealer in Palm Beach has had the car for close to a month now! They've been able to replicate and have yet to figure this out. Could be just a one-off bad example, but just wanted to let everyone know that it's a potential issue. I'll update once she gets an official diagnosis/fix from the dealer.

This sounds like a one-off bad example...I have never heard of this on any model Lexus.

That's what I was thinking, just wanted to document on here and see if it's part of a bigger issue. I've owned 3 Lexus'ssss and never had an electrical issue. Cars are getting too complex these days with the wiring...

I'm coming up on three years in my '07 ES350 and no starting problems. Hopefully it's a glitch that they can find and fix for your mom.

There's a known issue with a small number of the 07 ES350s having a defective start button. There's a TSB for it. Also, it's possible that your master brake cylinder looses its "boost" after the car's been parked a day or so, making it less likely the driver will push the brake pedal hard enough to allow the car to be started.
