Default sensitive accelerator foils smog check

I've taken my 2002 ES300 to two different smog test centers, and neither was able to keep the car at steady 15mph because it has a "touchy accelerator."

I would appreciate any information on how to get my car to successfully run the test. Are there shops with special equipment that use a computer to control the speed? Do I need to have my accelerator repaired?

Thanks

Don't ever take your car to either of those places again. Thats the best advice your gonna get.

I'm not sure he/she has a choice , it's california ....

that's why if there's a dirty intake part on this car that is making the the thing touchy, a lower gear will help, but still, this is weird. in the end, you should find a different place if you can, but also have a top level mechanic look at your car.
