Default used cluster mileage??

i just picked up a used gauge cluster for my sc300 and it has way more miles than my original cluster. can i change the mileage back to be the same as my original one??

hahah i'm sure you're joking. it reminds me of that one comercial.

anyways tampering with milage on the car is a crime and you can get yourself into deep crap for tampering with it. just like tampering with emission. you should of asked him how many miles were on the cluster before buying it. there really isn't much you can do other than pay someone to somehow reprogram it which probably won't be worth it what you'll get charged because they can get in big doodoo for doing that. i say you just return it.

Call a local Lexus dealer and explain the situation. They may be able to do it. Don't put it in yourself. Let them put it in for you. That way they can be sure what the mileage is when you get there.

yeah that's an idea, but i'm not even sure they'll touch it or do something like that and risk it. plus why waste more money on that thing knowingn that dealerships charge a grip.

i say just return it and go looking for another one.

Lexus will do it for you. Must bring the car in, show proof of mileage. I can't "change" it, but i can make the new cluster read what the old one does through a procedure using both clusters at the same time.
