It is not that complex, just a couple of time zone options. Personally, I would be cool with the system to just control the minutes automatically. I can flip the hour twice a year. If a cell phone can do it, a Lexus should do it!

 

Totally agree--the "antiquated" nav radio in my 2004 GMC Yukon Denali is capable of displaying and adjusting time based on the GPS clock--all I need to specify is timezone and daylight savings time (simple yes/no toggle). I think part of the issue is that Lexus chose to include a standalone LED clock for those vehicles that don't have nav radio...but why they didn't just install a radio that had a built-in clock (yes you'd still have to manually adjust for timezone/DST/drifting of minutes) or have the clock feature included in the nav radio (no drifting adjustment needed) is beyond me...

Going off on a tangent, but sheesh--that LED clock looks cheesy considering how a Lexus vehicle is supposed to exude luxury; heck, the clock in the Infiniti G35 looks classier compared to that in the ES 350; the ES clock looks like something that belongs more in an economy car than in a luxury vehicle.
