Default 95 Es300

Hi,
I have 95 ES200 model lexus. Vibration comes at above 60mph and it goes up when speed moves up. I rotated tires and did a wheel balancing at reputed tire center. But still the vibration comes in. They are telling me change the front axle @ driver side for $300. Did any one faced the same problem any solution to it. Thank,Sak

You probably have a bent rim or something silly. Worse case scenario you have a loose front end but not likely in these cars. Try relocating the wheels in different spots to follow the vibration, or have a shop rebalance them and check for a bent rim/ bad tire on the machine. Why did they recommend an axle? Beacuse if the CV boot is ripped wide open, that needs to be fixed vibration or not.

do you have aftermarket wheels? I've had this same issue on a few different cars with aftermarket wheels and low profile tires. It was really bad on the lexus and then went away right after a new set of tires.

It normaly has something to do with the tire and/or rims. But a while back, I had warped rotors on my Saab, and it caused it to vibrate some at higher speeds, and while braking. Might want to check that out before you go and have replace part of your axle.

You could have:

-unbalanced wheels & tires
-bent rim
-bubble in tires

My car was vibrating a little, steering wheel and front end of car... You can feel it the worst at 65-70mph. 70+ feel it a little, under 65mph cant really feel any noticeable vibration. Recently did a wheel balance on all 4 wheels, which needed balance and it went away. also had the rim checked for damage, it was fine... 97es300 15" stock rims

older cars + higher speeds = lil vibrations... its sad, but the truth. if they are barley noticeable i wouldnt be worried. but keep an eye on it and see if they get worse, if so, then its time to get things checked for real
