Default Lagging acceleration at higher gears?

I have a 92 ES300 5 Speed and just replaced the plugs and plenum gasket since I was getting some rough idle etc. Still when I am in 4th or 5th gears i get no strong acceleration and lagging throttle response or very rough staggered response???

Downshift to a lower gear for better acceleration. How long have you been driving a manual vehicle?

My powerband is weakest in 4th or 5th too. 5th is just for cruising. You can advance the timing a few* to help it spool up quicker. How are the knock sensors doin? You replaced the old plenum gasket with a new one like a good boy right?

I have had it for about 10 years now, garnet red with black interior. I did change the Plenum with new gasket but still have some rough idle and rough acceleration..where are the knock sensors?

Knock sensors are mounted to the block in the valley between the 2 heads.
