I haven't heard of any member with those springs. I'd stick with some Teins or Tanabe. Don't forget to change your struts.

Cool

I considered those Canucks very briefly during my suspension research (found here ~post 30ish, 2nd Generation (92-96) ES300 Suspension Reference), but passed on them considering the complete lack of any reviews or testimonials. Also, any drop greater than 1.5" is going to require a camber kit; if I remember correctly the Canucks claim a 1.7" drop.

Speaking of a 1.7" drop, you might check out the Girlswin posts in that same thread.

I think you can do it but I wouldn't recommend it. If you're going to spend all that time to take the strut out to put new springs in, you might as well just put in new struts. Especially if your car is kind of old. It also depends on the roads your driving on.

just save one or two more weeks so you can do it right by buying struts at the same time. You will enjoy it much more.

Your stock struts will blow out quickly with lowering springs doubling your work to replace them and install new ones in a few months.
Do it right the first time and you won't regret it.

im also looking to lower my car and i feel the suspension is too soft to

how much of a drop is this, i think its right where i want to be:

any one had experience with tokico shocks, i have (on my SC300) and i thought they were fairly nice. what about on the ES?

im looking to mod my suspension fairly soon as i hear it squeaking when i go over bumps =( its also 175k old

looks like im torn between KYB and tokico, any comments on these?

I just got kyb struts in, they're in my living room waiting for the mounts to come in. I've heard mostly good things from them though.

Here's an earlier answer to the KYB vs Tokico vs Bilstein question:

In (very short)summation, based on the data I've collected:
  1. Tokico - stiffer, sharper, "more harsh," "more sporty"
  2. Bilstein - not a lot of data on these for the 2nd generation. Well-established company though.
  3. KYB GR-2 - "the closest to stock," many reports of ride improvement without harshness, many raves/few rants on this site and others.
I hope that helps in some way. I tried not to inundate you with details. If you want to know more, feel free to PM or post here. Good luck!
