I took my official jumper (bent paper clip) and connected TE1 and E1. Got a constantly flashing CEL. Didn't time it but seemed to be a 1-second interval. What does that mean?

The 94 ES is OBDII, not OBD1. You can get the codes by plugging a code reader into the terminal under the dash. You don't have to jump any terminals.

Many auto parts dealers (Advance, Auto Zone, etc.) will check the codes for you. Just don't tell them your car is a 94 model. Most 94 model cars are not OBDII.

Mines doing the same thing, just started yesterday, the car drives fine then seems to fall on it face (and flashes a CEL) and then picks back up. Any help here?

sorry to bump up an old thread, but im reading a code 12 and 55. im confused about the code 55, do i just replace the pcm or the knock sensor circuit. if the knock sensor throws a code, doesnt that mean the engine is bad ?

I own a 93 GS300. I tried the paper clip jumper on TE1 & E1. But I'm getting a constant flash from the check engine light. No pauses what so ever. Is there anything I can do?

i just tried this...but the cel light just blinks very fast, about 5 times per second over and over again. I'm thinking its probably my battery since I can't drive my sc since it wont pass smog with that cel and i cant drive it. so the battery's dead. Trying to jump it didnt solve this either.

Anyone know if a bad battery would make this happen?

It means condition is 'normal', ie., no trouble code(s) have been stored.
