Default Leaking water pump? need help

i got an oil change about 1.5-2 months ago and they said that they had found that my water pump was leaking but they said it didnt need to be fixed right away. they just said watch the temp and coolant.

Well my temp has been fine and i just checked my coolant for the first time in a couple of weeks and the container is only about 1/2 full and way below the line.

so what coolant to i use and should i fix it now?

oh man, goodluck. its a PITA. you have to pull the timing belts. i have yet to do it, because of its complexity and space arrangements. but it can be done, dont get me wrong, but will take some time.
goodluck

If you get it hot from neglecting the problem you will wind up blowing the head gaskets...

Assuming its newer since you didnt post what year your car is:
Toyota Red Coolant
Yes

If your losing coolant and you see no obvious leaks, check the water pump. Its supposed to be replaced every 90K anyway (assuming its newer once again) 60K if its older than 96ish

Try the Bars Stop Leak Pellets. You pour that into your radiator while it's cold. That's fixed a MAJOR leak for me, and so far so good. I was losing 1 gallon of coolant every 3 days, now I'm not losing any.

i would strongly go against that. youre not really fixing the problem, just simply masking it. and if these things are to ever get stuck in your block coolant passageways, imagine the hell youd go through because of this ~$10 fix.

goodluck.

well its fine now somehow... and i never filled the coolant.

i dont really know what is going on bc it was really low for about 2 or 3 checks in a row and now its right at the full line...

i didnt notice the low line before so i dont think i was ever too low bc it didnt go below the low mark on the resevoir.

But i dont really know why the levels were different each time i checked lol??? the only thing i can think of is that the engine was warm, but i know it wasnt warm for all of the checks. either that or it didnt completely recirculate through or something???

anyways my cars fine even tho im kinda confused
