Just curious how often and what I can do to service my transmission. Or do I ever need to service it or change the fluid etc?

 

Yes I would change the fluid every 30,000 miles with Toyota Type IV fluid or Amsoil ATF.

I'd actually change that down to about 15K miles and also drain and fill it about 3 times over the course of 3 weeks.

There is also a tranny filter where the pan is that should also be changed out at that time, too.

 

Sounds like I wont be able to do this by myself and the dealer will have to do this.

it in reality is very easy, just time consuming. my first time a buddy and i did it, i thought it all through while he gave me a helping hand. he even said that it was super easy.
same goes with power steering flush. he never though itd be so easy.

PS, changing it will make a difference. i didnt think it would, but still needed to as it already smelled burned. but wow is all i can say. so silky buttery smooth softness shifts.
