Default yet another clear taillight question..

I have a 92 es300 and have an extra taillight that I have pulled apart.. and removed the amber lense.. there is just a clear lense there now are most of you guys just putting it back together as is.. I was looking at the other searches and it appears that the lenses are stuck to the lense itself.. Mine arent like that at all.. What I am getting at it that since I have removed the lense and the amber lense there is a clear lense in there allready do I need to replace the amber one with a clear on which would make for a double clear setup.. Any help or advice would be great I know this subject has been beat to death.. but in my searches in the forums I couldnt find the answer I was looking for..

I did some research outside the forums and was wondering are 95-96 taillights plug and play? they seem much easier to clear out..

Yes, but you'll have an extra brake light bulb/holder and wire...I guess you could shove it back there somewhere, but if you just take it out, your bulb warning light will turn on.

I dont think it's necessary for a double clear. Just put them back together after u take out the orange lens.

What temp. did u bake them at? Did you have any problems taking them apart?

I had a slightly cracked extra taillight and i attempted to practice baking it. cracked it pretty bad when i tried to open it.

Yes they will fit, but they are shorter in length and the keyhole is a couple inches to the right on the 95-96 tails. They will bolt up but you have to remove your trunk locking mechanism for them to fit.

Does that mean u cant have a lock if you decide to put in 95-96 tails?

It means you can't open it from the outside with the key, because the hole will be empty. You can still pop it with the button inside the car.

Double Clear =
You have a light diffuser on the inner layer that has little lines/circles
The Orange part is the outer lens and has the horizontal lines.

For me, i took out the orange lens and just kept the clear light diffuser.
Now, I kinda regret that cause i hate how the little circles and lines in the diffuser look. I would have bought another diffuser (clear) and replace the ugly oem clear one.

BTW, you know how on the 00-01 es tails, there is a clear strip of lighting for the back up/signal lights like ours..
They use a clear lens, with a reflector set up. We have an ugly diffuser, so would anyone like to buy some chrome strip? or maybe the 1 inch chrome moulding i saw at autozone to see how the reflector -looking setup would look like?
