Lightbulb Lowering Springs

I have been hearing from a lot of places that lowering springs from a '93-96 Toyota Camry should fit onto a '92-96 ES. Can anyone confirm that this is true? If it is then this is the answer to a lot of our problems because the Camry springs lower the car a whole lot more than 1" and I don't know about you guys but 1" just doesn't quite get the job done, I mean I could put a heavy speaker box in the back and get the same results....no offense to anyone who likes a 1" drop I just prefer very little to no gap between the fender and tire.

thanx for the info Cialz...I think this will help a lot of us out, by the way have you posted a pic of your ride anywhere and what kind of rims did you end up with? I personally have only seen a few ES's with rims that go good with the car but then again I've only seen a few ES's with rims. Either that or the ES has nice rims on but hasn't been lowered enough to eliminate the gap, and ya know that just don't look right.

Question Lowered

Has anyone here tried to get bags, or air hydraulics, so that they can raise the car up when going over speed bumps or steep driveways? If so, did it work well, and how much did it cost?

Lexpusher has a hydro kit on his ES300.

I have fastbags on my 1992 Lexus ES300. I got them from airbagit.com, they ended up costing $1900 with shipping and everything. Kind of expensive but I love the ride(rides better than my stock ES). Its also adjustable very quickly. Not as fast as hydros, and as high as hydros, but still pretty damn good. Another plus is I can make my ride look sweet when the wheels are tucking while im cruisin around, and then raise it up when i see danger ahead!

Is there a switch inside the car to raise?

You would get the best results with H&R springs for the Gen3 V6 Camry. They will work on your ES with no problem.

Camry:

Gen 1 = 1983-1986
Gen 2 = 1987-1991
Gen 3 = 1992-1996
Gen 4 = 1997-2001
Gen 5 = 2002-2006

ES:

Gen 1 = 1990-1991
Gen 2 = 1992-1996
Gen 3 = 1997-2001
Gen 4 = 2002-2006

You can try EF1 Motorsports in Long Beach,CA. Shop around, you can find good deals all over the internet. Even eBay! Make sure you specify V6 when you mention the Camry. What year is yours? I'm assuming 1992 by your profile. Your choices are Eibach Pro Kit, H&R and Intrax. And the 98 Camry is a Gen 4.

Good Luck!

Uhh...

The ES series started in 1990, ES250...the second Lexus vehicle line sold in America. ES series aka Toyota Windom in Japan. The ES300 started in 92 since displacement jumped up from the 2VZ-FE 2.5L V6 to the 3VZ-FE 3.0L. Hence the ES300 technically being a Generation 2 of the ES series. The number designation only distinguishes the engine displacement...i.e. 300,400,430,450,470 and etc. In the Lexus line...it's the prefix that counts...i.e. IS, ES, GS, SC, LS, RX, LX and the new GX coming up. Need I say more?

Default performance?

Question on airbags for subwithyou (or anyone else who has them)...you said the ride is as smooth or smoother than factory...do you know if airbags are better/worse than solid lowering springs as far as performance is concerned? It seems like they would potentially allow more play/movement in the chassis...anyone?
