It's Official
I want to keep my keys in the ignition, where they belong.
And if I want to turn my damn car off and keep the radio on I want to just turn my key one click...I don't want to go through 15 steps with the stupid push button.
I've despised it since day one and you know what? I've read numerous car mag reviews (of other cars) that hate it too.
Keyless entry is a good thing...keyless start is for the birds.
I hate it beyond words.

I too see where the push button start can be a pain in the rear. If you want to fire up the radio or NAV only. You have to go through the ON cycle to turn it off. When this happens, the auto headlights then go on when you are parked in the garage (if you have one), the tilt wheel activiates, etc. You shouldn't have to go through the full cycle to turn the AUX off.

well, that's essentially what it is. just different sheet metal and different upholstery
i've always thought that the front end was just an evolution of the 2002-2006 camry. look how similar they look.
After carping about my ES350, the keyless ignition and the touch handle opening / locking is what I miss on my "superior" Impala SS and Jeep Grand Cherokee. If only the engine did not tap / knock in all temperatures now after the free oil change....
1) Only knocks during first 5 minutes of cold start.
2) Only knocks during acceleration. If I take my foot of the gas and coast, it stops. If I continue to accelerate, it knocks.
3) It does not knock during idle.
4) Once warm, it goes away for the most part.
5) Does not sound like a typical knock when a car is running lean, it sounds more like a diesel engine.

That's the exact description - but it has gotten louder and stays longer since the free oil change. Enough now that I am parking the ES350 at the Lexus dealership tomorrow and will arrive Monday morning for a test drive with the service manager. After our test drive, I want the both of us to take out a new ES350 from their stock and drive it. If it makes the same knock noise, then it is the nature of the beast. If it doesn't, I will not drive it off the lot until it is fixed. Side note - neighbor picked up his silver LS460 today. His
LS460 rekindled me liking the Lexus brand for a while or until Monday morning.
