Default 92-96 Stereo intercompatibility?

Looking to replace the (stolen ) headunit and CD changer out of my 94 ES300, and was wondering which year ES's stereos and CD changers will work in my car. Thanks in advance!

Just throw an aftermarket head unit in there, and if you really want a cd changer, you can get an aftermarket one also. But if you really want to stick with the original lexus head unit, look on ebay, i think 94-96 is compatible. btw i also have a 94 es, and i have an alpine HU, possibly considering the alpine cd changer. I like the way the alpine looks instead of the old HU, IMO.

My wiring in the car is all sorts of ****ed up, when the HU got stolen out of it with the previous owner, for some reason when he put the current one in, he didn't choose to hook up the front speakers, only the rears

So it will cost me more to install the HU I believe, as am not very good with wiring at all. I'll work on an engine all day, but when it comes to wires, I get confused as hell.

What HU would you recommend around the same price range, though?

Well i love the Alpine i have, its the cda-9851, works real well and has a motorized fold down face, it also lights up blue, which looks nice at night. i payed around $200 for it. Go to www.woofersetc.com , www.cardomain.com/shop , or even www.crutchfield.com . There is a huge selection of HU's at each of those and they all have different prices, find one you like that fits your budget and go for it . As for the installation, you can go to a professional shop and have them install it, and you might have to pay a little extra $$ for them to fix the wires so your front speakers work, but hey thats all up to you, depends on how you want your system to sound. I personally have professionals install everthing for me so nothing gets messed up. Good luck man and let us know how it goes.
