Exclamation Hello

So I'm new here and to be honest I was never a yota/lexus fan for well..ever. I have always been a nissan guy and if I have it my way I will till the end. Now funny thing is that I got orders to Guam and with that the ability to move a car to guam via uncle sams dollar. So I took the offer and as it would happen my 300zx of which I already bought a boat load of parts for is in no condition to make it that far. So now here I am with sitting in the airport with a lexus I just bought off my mom wondering what I'm gonna do with outside of just driving it. I must say though (92' ES300) it has it's own element of fun factor aside the fact it's FWD and well...auto. What I want to know is is there anything I should know about this thing that's model specific and what are all the popular mods looking like ?

The boo boo(yeah I know it's a simple fix)

I am also from Florida, to Guam (where you do have Lexus support), but one of my favorite things down here is to go drag racing, so if you are looking for something to do in your spare time there, try the strip in Guam, http://www.dragguam.com/schedules/grp_events.asp

There are a few members on ClubLexus who are in Guam.

Holy Crap,
They have a drag strip in Guam ? I knew there was hope and a car od who loved me . I thought I was doomed when I got orders and everbody I asked about Guam couldn't tell me about anything outside of things not to do like hookers, stripclubs, and bars....:: shakes head:: How far is it from Aganda ? I'm in the Navy so that's where I'll be on the Navy base there and there is a Airforce base 45 minutes north to my understanding too. How can I get in touch with these Guam club lexus members ?

Well, we do have a Hawaii and Guam forum on CL, https://www.clublexus.com/forums/hawaii-and-guam-137/

There are some members (I may be missing some),

babyGS3, https://www.clublexus.com/forums/members/42-babygs3.html
ChuH, https://www.clublexus.com/forums/members/344-chuh.html
juan01, https://www.clublexus.com/forums/members/4627-juan01.html (has an ES300)

I have seen it mentioned that the track is in Yigo, but on http://www.dragguam.com/schedules/default.asp they gave a phone number 688-7801

At least you will have more ClubLexus friends and Lexus owners than I will here in Mexico.

Don't feel to bad I just checeked into my ship this morning and my sponsor was no where to be found. On top of that I'm in a new COUNTRY with no friends. I'm not worried about it though now that I know of a ES300 owner in the area and once I get mine here or when it arrives rather. I'm looking at good times

Cool

Being a late 80's mid 90's car. If you ever let it over heat. It's going to warp the head & roast the head gasket before you ever catch it. Just like your nissan. Otherwise... It's like an inifnity I30 in that you've got a Toyota Camry, which is like a Maxima.
The engines (vq30de VS 3vz-fe) make identical powerbands. (The 3vz-fe's being bigger yet, especially after some mild tweaking). The differance being where yours is setup purely for more cousion, the latter is setup for sporty.

Welcome to FWD. Where unless you're driving on a flat out race track... It doesn't matter what damned set of wheels drive the car. :P You'll also note that Toyota uses a proper FWD axle/differential geometry in that you'd have less torque steer @ 400bhp than a 150bhp 4 cylinder Nissan.

I like 300zx's but oh my god those things get crap for gas mileage!? (Sorry, it's a grossly long running joke with me & my vq30det buddy.)

Thanks man for all the info, you know what's funny is I'm a member of the maxima forums too cause I use to own two maxima's a GXE and a SE (5spd). So I know all about that nissan TRQ. steer..lol. I found a guy at the lexusclub who has a turbo ES300. The funny thing is that his setup is just like what my maxima would have been. So I'll prolly boost it later on this year adter I buy the second motor for it .As for the gas mileage well I never really cared about that anyway cause well, there are no roads on the ocean..lol.

Way ahead of you as I am in Guam and as soon as I get ahold of that other guy. I'm assuming getting ahold of JDM parts isn't hard at all atleast I hope anyway. When my car get's here it's off to the autohobby shop for some good ole fashion fixin. Then once the body and suspension is like I want it the enginebay is free game .

Cool

I meant I'm on maxima.org and nissanforums too. When i was turboed is topped @ 250whp (320hp). That's all the A/T's will take without getting IPT to rebuild them.
Now McElligott. He's run well in excess of 400bhp before.

Bob, you're in luck. I just pmed you. Saying it again, just FYI, my full jdm kit is FOR SALE if you're looking to fix your ride up! Front bumper, sideskirts, rear bumper, and wing. Also have a moonroof visor... forgot where I put the mounting brackets though. Oh, and I see some damage on your car. I know a good body shop that can do a great job!

Lexmex, you got pretty much all the Guam members down, but you forgot bren_speed. He also has an ES300. As a matter of fact, Bren and I were at the drags on Friday night. He was racing in his ES and I was using my Civic SI.
