Yes, still driving my 2003 ES300, it's at 225k now.

 

Hello all, I have had my 2005 ES for a year and it has 56K. It was a one-owner car and checked out great with a mechanic prior to purchase. I love it and have had no problems but am told it has original timing belt so I am looking to replace. I also have some creaking in the rear when backing out of garage. As a single woman with no real car repair knowledge, I am looking for advice. Are there certain parts or maintenance that should be replaced just because they are old (hoses, suspension, belts, etc.)? I don’t want to spend money unnecessarily and am willing to do upkeep but what is most important? Is it wise to put money in a low mileage car in good shape since it’s already 15 years old? Thank you!

 

Timing belt and water pump etc should be replaced in 15 years lol. As for rear it's prob just rubber. Is it cold out where you are at? If so take a hose and spray the rear stabilizer bar where bushings are. If it doesn't creak when you back up just replace the bushings.i wouldn't start replacing things unless it's broken. If you wanna do preventative maintenance I'd change fluids. Oil, brake, coolant, drain fill tranny (not flush), etc.

I was quite lucky and purchased an 05 ES330 with 72k on it. One elderly owner. Now has 119k. Hoping it will go 250k+

 

I've got 388k on my 98 es300 and she runs fine! I saw one for sale out here in Texas that had 643k on it. (94 es300)

 

What struts did you use? I have Monroe quick struts waiting to be installed after I get new tires.

 

165K on my 2005 es330, and it looks almost factory new and drives like a dream, drives like it is less than a year old. I plan on having it well over 300K.

 

Keep up on oil changes and other fluids, use the proper fluids, keep the timing belt changed out every 90K and you will get well over 250K.

 

I don't know. Mine has 200k and I hear a lifter ticking. It has gotten progressively worse over the last 6 months. Mine might be ready.

I'm ready to graduate to an LS

 

An LS isn't worth quite as much hype as it gets. Nice car, but anyone used to an ES or a Camry will be disappointed with repair and maintenance costs of an LS. Not to mention the worse gas mileage, RWD inconvenience in crappy weather, and premium gas requirement. I don't know if a slightly smoother, slightly quieter ride is worth what I just mentioned but it's your call, obviously.

 

Currently I have 215,000 miles on a 2004 ES 330 with original engine, transmission and radiator. Timing belt has been changed twice. It has received good maintenance over its life, mostly by Lexus dealers. My goal is to get it up to 300k, if its transmission holds up.

 

RLE has me beat but my 2003 ES300 is about to hit 360,000. Maintenance is the key. Even better when you can do it yourself.

 

Mine is with 354k miles, original owner . Follows the maintenance schedules religiously.
