Push Button Start Taking Second Attempt?
Wow....all your issues with your ES is beginning the scare me. So far nothing wrong with my husband's ES (still cross my fingers).
There are numerous time when he forgets to press the brake pedal while pressing the start button....took time getting used to...and eventually got the hang of it. But never had to press twice. Good luck!

Cali Girl, until something actually goes wrong with your husband's ES350 I wouldn't worry too much. A lot of people visit forums like this when they have a specific problem, to see if others have the same issue(s). Just think of the thousands of ES 350's out there that haven't experienced any problems. We have a 4/06 build date, purchased in mid-May and no issues at all to date. Good luck with yours.
4/06 build date picked up 6/8 and all is well.
Just crossed 5000 miles. As I'm on a 12k mile/year lease this is not good. I should only be at 4000 miles but an end of summer road trip to VT and Montreal did that in. I may still make it though as I put a bit under 1000/month on the car.
Ditto here.

Not too bad when you consider that I was averaging only around 17mpg in my old 2000 ES300!
The way I see it, I got an immediate 33% reduction in the price of gas at the same time I have gobs and gobs more power.
Go figure!
I posted about my push button start failure a few weeks ago. When mine failed there was no warning. It had never hesitated before and had never taken 2 attempts to start before the complete failure. Nothing else (from the key fob) worked either- door locks, door unlock, trunk open. It was actually more than the starter that had failed.
I usually unlock my doors just by approaching with the key in my purse or my pocket- you don't need to press the unlock button on the key fob. (I'm sure that you already knew that.)
My car has been fine since the repairs- I have had it back 2 weeks now.
Good luck with your repairs. We all have great sympathy for you. It's exciting to have a new car and frustrating when everything does not work correctly.

I remember your thread on your start problem. Since mine does this then starts second try I didn't put in under that.
It did it again last night though again starting on second attempt and I now can begin to see how frustrating it must have been for you to have it repeatedly not start and up to 8 times for dealer svc. to get your car started.
It is not a reliable feeling at all when it happens.
Sorry if in any way I even gave you the slightest hard time on your expectations from dealer etc. over an extended warranty.
With only two attempts it is unsettling, I cannot imagine repeated attempts and nothing, as you experienced.
ES350Bob-
Thanks for your note. Good luck on your transmission issues.
They did give me the extended warranty- 100,000 miles. I wish the service department at your dealership was as accommodating as mine was. They really are professional in every way.
