Default Clear Plastic Floormats

Anybody have these? I had them in a loaner IS and like them a lot better than my clunky rubber all-weathers. I don't see them on the Lexus site, so I'm assuming you can get them through the dealers. I think they look a lot nicer and still have the same effect by saving the stock mats in the winter time.

Default About Those Clear Mats............

I sent a post back in early July about these. I'd seen some folks had gotten and, "kind of" recommended, some inexpensive clear mats they'd gotten at Wal-Mart, etc. Well, I got a set and they were terrible - Paper thin, and slid all around!

I did however, get a much, much better set from our Lexus dealer a few weeks later. They are about $50-60, Factory cut especially for the ES350, They stay in place, and you can see the LEXUS logo on the mat below them. Tech info follows: (Protect-a-mat - LX629 4 Pc 07 - 07 ES350 2 Pc Front/2 Pc Rear)

I agree the Heavy Duty All-Weather Mats were too bulky and SUV-like. Hope this helps. Be Well.

Have them over my carpet mats on Lincoln LS. Purchased on e-bay, think they are called Exact Mats. No problems / fit perfect but they do discolor a little after a year. Will order another set when my ES350 Ultra comes in (hopefully any day now). Still like the all weather mats for winter as they catch the melted snow / dirt off PA roads. Agree they are clunky but they do the job.

This looks like a good idea. Do they have the holes in the plastic so that you can use the hooks built into the carpet?

I agree that the clear mats look better compared to the all-weather Lexus OEM solid-colored ones; however, I chose to go w/ the all-weather since they hold/trap dirt and other stuff in better than the clear mats. That, plus by using the all-weathers, the carpeted floor mats will remain in near-pristine condition since they'll be stored (all-weathers can be used as a substitute for the carpeted ones). My only complaint about the particular all-weathers I bought for my ES is that the "gray"-colored weather mats don't quite match the light-gray interior of the vehicle, as they are a bit darker in color...not much I can do about that since that is how they come.

Yes, and I'm wondering how my black all-weather mats will go with my cashmere interior... can't complain though because I got them for free and they're Lexus.

When I got my ES.....almost 6 months ago, the black mats were already in place, and I never took them out! They actually put them on top of the carpeted mats, so the hooks are only holding down the carpeted mats. It didn't make a difference though, since these rubber mats don't slip around at all. Everybody, including myself thinks that they look great......and they're a cinch to clean!

You tell them what the year, make and model of your vehicle is and they make them custom for you. For my 2002 ES300, in which only the left front has holes in the mats, only the left front "matprotector" has holes so you can use the hooks built into the carpet. There is a zipper on the underside; after you put your mat in it you zip it closed. Four years +, and my mats are still like new.

I changed out my gray mats for black. They look great and don't show dirt like the gray ones did. And, they were cheaper at my dealership than through lexusparts.com. $130 for the set I think.

Funny, the guy at the parts department said even the folks with cashmere were changing over to black for the same reason.

Thanks Alan for showing me these pictures. They do look good and I feel more comfortable putting them on now. It's getting cold up here and snow can't be far away...

Alan, I have a black interior and love the mats you have. Do you have a part number? Cost? Thanks in advance.

Sorry, but I don't know the part #, since these mats were part of the deal when I bought the car. If you go to your Lexus dealers parts they can look it up and give you the price. I think it was a little over $100.

Thanks. I just noticed a dealer in TX is selling new sets on E-Bay for under $70. Your pictures sold me, thanks!
