Talking 2002 Es 300

Hello everyone! I really need help on the pricing of the NEW 02 ES 300. I'm planning to purchase this car in the comming weeks. I visited one of the dealer today in Houston (Clear Lake Lexus), and NEW 02 ES 300 looks really nice and smooth. They offered me for this car drive out is $37,500. It is the base model with the leather upgrade packet that came with cd changer and woodtrim. He told me it is the hot car and the dealer had no intention to reduce/discount on this model. I think he is b/s on his comment. Personally, I think it's over price and my goal to get him to make a deal is around $33,000 - $34500 (Is this a good deal). Can anybody or anybody who had purchased this model recently tell me their final offer on this model? Thank you!!!

vdt, the new ES will be somewhat of a hot seller for a while since it is a basic redesign rather than a face lift. So, your dealer may not be willing to discount much at this time. If there are people lined up behind you ready to pay sticker, he's not going to be much inclined to knock off a few thousand just for you.

If you can wait a few months, you'll be in a much better bargaining position. Dealers will have cars sitting, supply will have caught up (and even maybe exceeded) demand, and you can make low-ball offers. Also, since you (unlike me) are in an area where you've got more than one dealer relatively close, go see them all.

Good luck!

Lexus of Dayton can't cut the prices on the 2002 ES's since theyre selling so quickly, and since the prices are already very reasonable. I ordered my Blue onyx 2002 last week, and i probably won't see it until December.

Lexus dealers will not discount the '02 ES for a while. So if you can't wait, you'll have to pay up. Just don't pay more than sticker.

uhh, i was offered the Lex of Dayton demo ES300 for 1,000 below sticker. It has 750 miles on it, and i could drive it away next week. What do you guys think? yea or nay?

If you can't wait (or don't want to) for a better discount, I'd say go for it.
