Default Front vibrations

My '92 windom has started to make a really weird (and annoyin) vibrating sound when im doing anything between 1,500-2,500rpm, its coming from the bumper area but i had a look and a feel around and couldnt see much wrong - anyone else had this problem before?

You'll have to jack it up and jackstand the front end along the sides. Then you can really shake the suspension parts, safely.

With the wheels in the air, unlock the steering column and place the transmission in neutral. Move the suspect wheels by hand, feeling for bearing binds or play in the hubs. Feel the ball joint play.

Remove both front wheels.

Inspect the axle drive shaft CV boots for cuts or grease leakage. Grasp the drive shaft and inspect both inner and outer CV joints for noise or looseness.. they should be tight and silent.
Check the suspension bushings, A-arm bushings, sway bar ends and bushings and ball joints. A pry bar assisting would help isolate any play.
With the steering column still unlocked, check the steering rack inner and outer bushings. Inspect the steering rack boots for cuts or damage.

I would suspect one or more of the above has excessive play in it.

You sure it's not that your tires need balanced or aligned?

It does need new cv's, they have started clicking I'm going to do these asap but I've had cv's more stuffed than this before and they never made this sound. Thanks for all the tips tammy but I'm 99% not a mechanical problem, will however jack it up after work and have a really decent poke around just incase.

Its sounds like the sound you get from outside a car boot that has too much bass coming from it, that kinda plasic on metal vibration - that makes sense to me lol. Will let ya know how it goes after work tomorrow anyway, cheers
