Angry Window Problems Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

One of my rear windows fell the other day. It would no longer roll up or down. I took the door panel off to see what needed to be done. The cord that runs through the motor connects together in a little plastic clip. That clip was broken. No big deal, how much could a stupid little plastic clip cost? At the worst I thought maybe 10 bucks. No, you cant find it by itself. You have to buy the whole window acuator which is 65 dollars! What a rip! I am so mad. I think i will just super glue the piece of crap back together myself. How hard would it be to stock this little piece of plastic that is probably the only thing that will ever break in this whole assembly. Why must everything be so complicated!

I have the same problem... my passenger window has gone as the metal cord has frayed and got mangled and then shortly the drivers window went due to the motor.

Thing is I live in the UK and ES300 is very rare so parts are very hard to get and usually have to wait 3 weeks. I could not order just the cable or just the motor i have to buy the whole kit.. and that in US dollars would be around $400 plus labor EACH!

I have the Jap import version of the Toyota Windom which when i visited the states was the ES300.

Have you tried the junk yard... you may find second hand parts.

Also i did some research and found that the camry has the same chassis number.. so i guess quite a few parts would be the same as the camry. By looking at a camry owners manual alot of the parts are identical. May be cheaper when from Toyota??

Yeah the price I listed was from Toyota not Lexus. Who knows how much Lexus would want for the same part. I am going to check the junk yards as well.

it really sucks... I am going to get a plan of the doors from the dealer and then phone another dealer and get a plan for a camry... youll be surprised that most of the parts are the same... they go through lot of the toyota range, Supra, Camry, Celica, and even MR2...

But I am nearly there to having a perfect fully mainteined lexus.. just a few things left to fix.
