Hello everyone, first time poster. Picked up my first Lexus the other day, 06 ES. The dealer offered an Ipod controller . Has anyone had one installed at the dealer? Looking for options as there is no tape deck and transmitter quality is lacking at best. Any suggestions?

my mom just got the 06es a couple of days ago and she was pretty perturbed at the lack of tape player for her ipod. i havent even heard of the dealer installing one. i think i need more info on how it interfaces with the stereo before i would commit to that. im sure thats an aftermarket - not lexus oem - install that they are doing.. find out more and let us know, i would think there would be a way to get a feed into the "SAT" part of the stereo. would there be a cable hanging downn to plug into? will it be a mini plug or will it be an ipod connector? how much were they charging? if its hardwired, it'll sound good ... probably!

 

I haven't gotten the details from the dealer as of yet but the impression i got was an aux input on the cd changer so wired. Price was discounted to $575 which feel is way too much.
