At the risk of attracting flammers and '02 ES haters I want to comment on the interior of the new ES. I really do like what I see from pictures and can't wait to see the car in person. It seems to me the car will sell to be more like a japanese buick Which isn't necessarily bad now that Lexus has the IS to play with.

Okay, back to the interior. Mainly I wanted to comment on the placement of the CD player - it is behind the nav screen! I thought that was an odd and possibly akward design. I've never used a setup like this so I can't say how easy or hard it is to us. BMW and MB have similar setups. I know BMW has a nav screen that swivels down to allow access to the CD player, and I was once in an SLK which has the tape player behind the radio reciever.

I was looking through some pictures online and came accross this one and wanted to share it. BTW, the CD that the guy is putting in looks like Barenakedladies's first CD - "Gordon"...interesting. Ceck the next post.

ABSOLUTELY ! it is one of the most beautiful interiors there is !!!......and that combined with SUPER lexus reliability makes it a winner......but, if only they had THE SENSE to add the much needed extra horses under the hood .......and I'm not too crazy about the exterior styling either, seems really odd looking !

I've seen the car in person and sat in it. Its MUCH better looking in person, probably the best looking car in the Lexus line. Its very fluid. I too hated the pictures. So the 02 haters, keep this in mind!

The interior is great also, right behind the LS430.

Stephen, you're absolutely right...I guess we should see it in person as bad camera angles can even make a GS look bad (ok, not really!)

Another car that had a bad rap until people saw it in person was the Mercedes C230 Sport Coupe...now that I've seen one in person (and drove it), I think it's a great little car...
