Default custom Y-Piping

Ok so i talked to a shop for a custom Y-pipe. The mechanic said that they could make one but couldnt guarantee that it wouldnt whistle. <~~~that was my expression. I asked why it would whistle he said anything on the camry or es that wasnt stock when it came to y-pipes had a bad habit of whistling. Specifically the flex piping.....Anyone ever heard of this before? Im thinking the reason it whistles is cause this clown doesnt know how to fabricate one.

what are you thoughts?

You hit the head of the nail on that one my friend.
Ask him why the hell he's either incapible of welding a flex pipe on correctly, or why he's using split flex pipes in the first place.

That guy is a dork LoL!

Don't worry about it. If jhenty & OLT can offer, anyone else can. I'm busy rebuilding my engine & buying new turbo equipment. (Shipping woot!). So I've got too much on my plate for two weeks.
Keep in mind <- 3vz-fe. The 1mz-fe manifolds are up higher & the y-pipes are both longer & at a slightly different angle. So it wouldn't be the exact same thing. The angles are not a problem. I'd need pictures & tape measurements for 1mz-fe's.

What I was thinking was the same thing mine is made of. Some steel plate to cut flanges, then use some mandrel bends & exhaust pipe. No point in them being stainless steel when the stock equipment isn't. I wish I had a powder coating gun , but I don't (LoL!) so yall, or I can put on some duplicolor high-temp paint.
It'd be way cheaper. None of that $300 crap.

A side note
Tho I've never supported headers because they don't make much power on these v6's. I'm building me some to mount the turbo on. Unfortunately there is some bigtime difficulty in taking the rear exhaust manifold off without taking the head off. You can do it by undoing bolts from above & under, then pulling it out from under the car. It'd be a full blown lunch - dinner project.
Not really something I want to get people into. :\

I have a new Magnaflow Y-Pipe (2.5in Inlet & 2.25in dual outlet) that I am thinking of selling because I want to go Turbo. Asking price is $50. PM me if you are interested. Thanks.

On my RX, I have my Y-pipe after my resonator (A Sankei from an Accord V6). No such whistle but there is a rasp if you do not have a resonator (and I mean a true one not a glasspack). 2.25 inch double pipe that goes into an Arvin muffler (two entrances and two exits). Gives it somewhat of a truck sound at WOT.

me and Sean was talking about this a long way back. cuz i been bugging him for a custom Y pipe for months.. if you can build a way pipe , let's say 10 of them at once it would be a worth a pretty amount... for 92 and 93's.. about 130 each?? what you think??

hell if this would turn out to be a big profit. all i'm asking in return is a free Y pipe..

I know Sean would do it, but he's got a bunch going on. Between his turbo lex, swapping jobs & moving. I think that's just cracking open his book for the rest of the year!

I don't have money & time to build 10 at a time & give you one free LoL! IM me & we'll talk about it.
