Default Wierd problem what do you guys think?

Hey guys i recently got a Toyota Solara V6 no it isnt a lexus but i thought maybe since it has the same engine as the ES you guys could help. When i start the car up in the morning there is absolutely no blue smoke coming out but say if i drive some where and come back and restart the car lets say 3 hours later there is blue smoke for like 5 seconds at start up only. Its wierd because it doesnt happen in the morning. Thanks i appreciate it.

Blue smoke out of the exhaust usually indicates oil that worked it's way into the combustion chamber. This can be caused mainly by bad piston rings, but since it's so slight I would check the PCV valve to see if it's operating properly. Also, how much mileage does the car have, what weight oil are you using, and do you have to add any oil between oil changes?

I changed the pcv valve it seems like its working good, it has 101k, im using 10w30 and i dont really have to add any oil. I thought that maybe its the valve stem seals but when i changed my spark plugs they werent really fouled at all. And it never happens in the morning. Thanks

I wouldn't worry about this too much since the car has over 100K miles and otherwise is operating normally. It's probably due to normal wear and tear of the engine. On the other hand, if it was causing fouled spark plugs, then you probably should check the engine clearances to make sure they're in spec.

Cool

Plugs fouling is pretty sever oil useage. They next to never foul if the rings, or head gasket isn't shot. Don't trust the plugs not being fouled.

You're probably right, valve stem seals.
