Default Problem Starting

I've got a 94 ES300. I think my battery was dying so I replaced it. Once I installed the new one it still will not start. I've got small amounts of power, the radio and lights work and it almost feels like it is charging??? I'm not sure if anyone else has encountered this problem before. I believe if the alternator was the problem nothing would be working....
anyone have any ideas???
Thanks in advance for any help

Does the car turn over like it's trying to start?

no, it just ticks, and then it won't even do that (tick) until I let it sit for a little bit.

I had just jumped it the other day and it started...could that happen if the starter was bad?

1) Clean the terminals, no matter how clean they look.
2) Check that the main relay clicks when the key is turned on.
3) The new battery is dead, get another one.

thanks Pheonix,
The terminals apparently weren't clean enough, a little baking soda and warm water cleaned them up and then it started.

Thanks for your help

Cool

No problem, glad it's that easy!
Get the felt pads to go under the terminals for like $1 this weekend. Those work the best to keep this from cropping up now that they're clean.

You can also use die-electric grease <cough> vasoline <cough> to try to seal everything, but that will evaporate eventually & it doesn't last as long. :\
