Question ASL button?

Anyone know where the Automatic sound leveling button is located in a 2000 ES?

Dom, if my memory serves me correctly, the ASL feature wasn't implemented on the ES until the 2002 model. You would find this ASL button on the stereo unit of the center console.

Hey Doug,

I am the one that told him about ASL and I got it from here:

http://www.lexus.com/cpo/model_detail/es/300/2000.html

I just did not know if it was defeatable or not since I don't have access to this model year.

Cool

Hey Neo,

Thanks for posting the 2000 (and I assume 2001) changes.

Under the 'Transmission' section however, it states - Four-speed automatic Electronically Controlled Transmission (ECT)

- Overdrive fourth gear, engine/transmission networking, lockup torque converter, Slope Compensation Control

Anybody know what exactly is Slope Compensation Control?

If it's like the other one I've heard about, it pumps the ABS to keep you from rolling backwards real fast on an incline. You'll still roll, but slowly.
