Default Missing the cap for the powerful acceleration button!!

Hi,

I have a 1997 ES 300 and on the base of my shifter there is supposed to be a button the changes the driving mode from normal to powerful.

I am missing the cap for this button and it doesn't seem to activate by just pressing with my finger.

Can anyone help me find this cap???? My console is black.

Thank you,

SL

He might be talking about the shift lock overide button. I too have a white space there. I've never heard of a normal to powerful drive button only overdrive and thats on the side of the shifter ain't it?

Maybe he's talking about the ECT button. It's for Electronically Controlled Transmission and has a "normal" and "power" setting. The function moves the shift points higher in the RPM range to get more torque from the engine.

You guys are wrong for that! . He is talking about the overdrive button. It does seem to make the car feel like it goes faster when it is off. LMAO

P.S my cloaking device just went down i checked the fuses and they seem to be fine ....im thinking it might be the "TIME CONTINUIM COUPLER" taking to much energy from the warp core and causing my A.B.S light to go off .............. thats it this all to muych for me im just gunna take it to pep boys lol

Hi,

I am looking for the ECT button!!!!!

I also just have a white space there. I am assuming its missing the cap so the button doesn't work.

Can anyone help me locate this part.

Thanks,

SL

Those guys are just playing w/ you. I had the same problem that u have before i found a wrecked windom and got my button cap. It shold work if you press the white base w/ your finger. It's just that the car doesn't necessarily perform a whole lot different w/ it on or off. In my option it down shifts more quickly and holds each gear abit longer but don't expect the world.

Thanks for your reply.

I have searched in my area and have not been able to find my car at a wrecker. If anyone might be able to locate me a cap I would really appreciate it!
