2000 ES Subwoofer mods
Does anyone have any suggestions on modifying/replacing the stock subwoofer. I have a subwoofer box from my 92 ES but I don't feel like wasting the trunkspace anymore. Can the subwoofer be replaced and powered by another amp or is it set to use the factory amp.
Also, where is the factory amp located?

cant be replaced unless you fabricate a new bracket for the new sub. the new sub must also be free air or else you will need to build some sort of box. the amp wont be able to take that much power, so youll need an external amp. the stock amp is located behind the glovebox.
hope this helps

I have found from experience with putting in stereo that the stock speakers sound better on an aftermarket amp than new speakers on a stock setup. Take the Bazooka tube for example, they really suck unless you add a separate amplifier and ignore the one it came with.
