I saw this "chip" on ebay that claims to increase horespower. Does anyone know if they actually work?

Number one biggest scam on e-bay for any Toyota/Lexus product, "mod chip". There's no such thing since no one except TRD knows how to crack newer Toyota ECU coding.

They've been doing this type of stuff for many, many years. If you go to automobile meets you'll see them trying to hawk these things, like ignition boosters, octane boosters and such to improve your gas mileage and power, and auto polishes that last the life of your car. heehee

 

Will they mess your car up, or do they just not work?

 

Sounds like is tempering your emission device so you alter your engine perfomance curve. Is it street legal?

 

They could conceivably screw up your engine computer. It isn't worth it.

 

Because there are people out there gullible enough to buy it. Then when they get it, they set theirselves up for disappointment.

 

it's just a 10 cent RatShack resistor. Don't get it, unless you love getting CELs all the time.
