Hey guys,

I have a 94 ES and when I make a hard left turn there's this high pictch screeching noise. Even when I'm doing a U turn. I'm not sure what the problem is but it seems to be coming from the tire or around that area. I was going to bring it into the dealership but decided to ask you guys for your opinions. When I do a hard right turn there is no noise. Has anyone every had this problem? or what is the problem? Thanks.

 

It would definitely help out if you can be a little more specific about that "screeching" noise. Maybe next time when you take your car out, roll down your window and make your turns to determine the accurate location of the noise. It could also be coming from the power steering pump, but hard to tell from the description you provided.

are the belts tight

i cant remeber if you guys have a couple of belts or is just one

if its the power steering pump there is a company called Lucas that makes

a great product

When is the last time you checked the power steering fluid level? sounds like your P/S is deprived of fluid. Make sure you check it ASAP, otherwise you'll damage the pump and the rack. Very $$$$ items.

 

There is only one belt for the P/S in the ES.
