I just bought this lexus and i attempted to use the Ac and it only blew hot kinda semi cold air, is this because the system has to be recharged or somthing else?
A recharge is possible for the reason of A/C blowing hot air. Do you see the A/C light blinking when it is turned on? If so, it usually means there is something mechanically wrong with the A/C, particularly the compressor or the expansion valve (a common problem noted in the '92-'96 ES).
No Warninh Lights, but i just found out i cant recharge this system myself because its an R12 System, which sucks lol, i would have to bring it to a shop, unless u guys know another way?

You can bring it into a qualified tech to recharge, have him retrofit or you can do a retrofit R12 subsitute yourself if you're mechanically inclined.
They do sell a kit at The Auoplace around the corner from me that allows me to retro fit my AC to conform to R-134a and it gives me a bunch of adapters n stuff, so ill try that
Hey i cant find the lower side pressure hose that i need to put the refridgerant in, do u guys know where u plug the hose in so that i can recharge the system, i think i found the High Side Hose Behind the Headlight but the instructions on the Reilling kit say i need to refill using the low side hose which i cant find????

You plug in the hose on the fitting that looks like an oversized tire valve bung.

Hello. First post. Great forum
I've got a '93 ES 300 blowing warm air thru A/C
Was told by a mechanic to recharge it. I've gotten a can and a kit but having trouble finding the LOW valve. Could someone help in describing where to look or point it out on a picture? thanks
Low side fitting is near cylinder #1. Passenger side firewall. It took me a little while to find it on my car, but once you start looking near the firewall, it should be quite easy to spot.

Thanks George_Jet
I've actually seen that fitting before as I was searching for it. Isn't it a bit small though? the fitting seemed smaller than I've seen in my other car(mitsubishi), also LOW end.
Sorry, I can't comment on the size of the fitting. My car was converted to R134 before I purchased it, so it has the quick disconnect adapters installed. Good luck
Dammit, I've just noticed that my system is R12!
Doesn't look like it's a DIY anymore, looks like I may have to take it to the dealer. Does anyone know how much they would charge for a recharge?
