Creepy Scream Noise - What Could This Be?
Hello,
I own a 2006 ES330, over the weekend while working o the car I heard the most unusual sound coming from the drivers side floor board /the wall to the radio and heater. I was removing the radio because it just continues run and draibn my battery..... Anyway, the battery was out of the car completely, for a half day, so zero current running through the car. Can anyone identify this creepy sounds, scream, squeal? I'm a fisherman and here in San Diego the blue-fin tuna have been running for the past four years. If you have ever deep sea fished, it's that clicking sound you hear from the reel just as the fish takes the bait.
This is the most bazaar event with this car
Does anyone know what this might have been?

LeX2K,
Appreciate your response. The car doesn't have the battery hooked-up, so zero current running through the car, this makes the heater and radio are non-operational. I have not heard that noise since Friday night when I recorded the audio.

Haunted car...
With no battery that is quite strange. You may want to connect the Pos (+) and Neg (-) cables together to discharge any current that may be left in any capacitors. There are several blend door servos that tend to make some strange noises when they start to fail but that noise is soooo strange. If the little plastic gears are stripped it could make a noise similar but not anything like the noises towards the end of your sound clip.

Hello,
How long can it keep going for?
If there any logic you can see behind it appearing or not?
Was the sound clip recorded inside the car, right near the Radio?
To me it sounds as if something Pressurized is getting out, something like a very odd shaped Crack in one of the Vacuum Accumulators or the Clog in an EVAP System, but the former is at the Front of the Car, under the Hood, and the latter is Behind, right above the Rear Subframe, making it unlikely that the Sound would be coming directly from the Dashboard Area. Regardless, it would help if you can try to localize the sound a bit closer, maybe check if it is indeed coming from the Inside of the car, and not from the Outside somewhere.
Hope this helps and best of luck!

Ok....so I was ill for a while, but thank you for asking, the stereo was in the car at that time, again, the noise came from drivers side floorboard/up against the stereo wall drivers side. I done quite a bit of work on the car since then, the battery has been out or disconnected for awhile - I have not heard it since that recording. I plan to put everything back together over the weekdend and will see if I can somehow replicate the noise.
