Cannot set new memory setting
Hey Experts,
Just got my 2014 Lexus ES300h back from the body shop. They had to disconnect the battery in the process of doing repairs, and after putting everything back together I noticed that although my driver memory functions still work and are saved, I cannot save new memory settings.
When I initially got the car, I was able to save my current driver's settings, and that position is still saved, but every time I try to save a new position and reprogram it to the same button, it just goes back to the old position.
I have tried every possible permutation of holding the memory button while holding the desired number, vs just pressing it and then the number, making sure the car is on and in Park, making sure the seatbelt is on or off, but issue still persists. When I got the car a few months ago, saving a new setting did not seem this complicated, so I doubt i'm doing something wrong.
I went online and saw that there are some calibration procedures for resetting the memory functions, and I have already tried that by following the steps of moving the seat all the way forward, then back, etc, but nothing works, and I hear no beeps along the way, which the instructions say I should be hearing.
I don't think it's a fuse issue either, since it still defaults to the current memory position, and if it were a blown fuse, I would assume that the memory function wouldn't work at all.
Does anyone have any other ideas?
Thank you so much!

Great question, I had tried that already, and I can't save to the other buttons either.
I found it strange that even thought he battery was disconnected for a long time, the driver's memory was still saved.
It feels exactly as though just the Set button is unresponsive and the other 3 are not. I imagine that that entire section of the door panel connects with one cable, though, right? I don't want to have to remove the door panel for no reason.. I assume it's all connected properly under there, as I dont see why just that one button wouldn't work.

Do the windows and/or sunroof still automatically close and open? When the battery is
disconnected many settings will remain while a few lose their mind. The seat settings are
usually lost but the window express open and close continue as normal. All of this to say
you might try the initialization procedure on the driver's seat again. Be sure to move Every
control to both extremes and hold the button for a solid second at each end of the travel.
If yours is a Luxury or Ultra Luxury and has the seat bolster that extends the front of the
seat, it is part of the memory system and needs to be cycled as well. Note: the lumbar
support is Not part of this process as it is not part of the memory system.
