start/stop button
A video on YouTube said that I should not hold the start/stop button for the engine start. He says to just touch it and release. Does it really make a difference?
Thanks from my wife

Touch and release is correct.
Not going to hurt the car by holding it, but totally unnecessary.
You can enjoy the new way by seeing just how fast you can press it and withdraw your hand.
Marvel how precisely the starting routine is automated for you.

Old skill we learned when starting an engine with a key was to twist until the engine fired up and then release the key.
Since cars were carbureted with mechanical fuel pumps and mechanical chokes, plus they had distributors with points
it was always a challenge to time it just right. Also, if you twisted it while the engine was running you would zing the starter
which made a startling noise. Oh, and it was easy to steal cars with key holes by just slide hammering the whole thing!
Enter the push button era. Press and release, easy peasy. Press as long as you wish, no harm done. Also eliminates
the "old husbands' tale" of requiring that you turn off all systems when leaving the car. With a key system, as you turn
on to engage the starter, all the A/C and radio circuits connected and added loads to the battery. With our keyless
arraignment it does not.
