Hello all,
I recently bought a 2000 es300 and am working through some of the repairs. It was in a front end collision of some sort and whoever fixed it, put the wrong headlight on the driver side. This one has the HID setup and they put in a standard halogen housing, so obviously none of the plugs or wiring is compatible. What I’m wondering is if, and how, I can change both headlight to halogen.
I know HID is king, but I simply can’t afford the HID assembly.
modes anyone know if there is an adapter? Or how one would go about getting a halogen assembly to work with the current wiring?
Thank you so much and can’t wait to get some feedback on this issue.

Here is a thread that describes the process of De-Pinning a Connector, as well as Crimping Replacement Terminals.
Probably the best option would be to make an adapter for the Factory Wiring, that way you are not making any Alterations to the Factory Setup and can always revert back to the HID Setup with no consequences.
Finding the Male Connector for your OEM Pigtail is a bit of a problem, they weren't all that common, mostly being used on HID Headlights for the GS, here is one of not many options. Because of that, another option is to Replace your OEM Connector Housing for a more common one, like 90980-10899, and getting a Mating Housing (90980–10898) for that instead.
Those Connectors you should be able to find around Junkyards and simply splice the Male Connector with the Connector for the H7 Bulb, which you can also either buy or find at the Junkyard. Another option would be to Crimp the New Connector Terminals onto the H7 Bulb Connector, making the adapter a lot more discrete.
Either way, all the Tools you will need are linked in the thread Above, and all the Parts you will need are linked Below.
