Blower motor problems
My 2001 Lexus ES300 fan AKA blower motor is new and will sometimes turn on when I start the car and have turned on the fan. Other times it won't work at all. When it does work it will stay on for a little while then shut off after car warms up from what I can tell. I replaced thermostat and got a new blower motor it worked for a few days when I replace the blower motor and then shut off or started doing the intermediate working and not working he still comes out through my vents when I have it turned on meaning the module I pressed for the fan or what not to open and I hear the vents open and just the car driving pushes warm air into the cabin I've checked the cabin air filter and replaced it. Help car doesn't overheat.
Hello,
Have you tried leaving the Blower Motor in the Lowest Speed?
Here is a thread on how to access the Diagnostics Function of the Climate Control System, which also includes the list of possible Codes that can come up in it, see if you have any codes stored in there, just in case.
The Blower Motor Circuit in those cars is pretty simple, it includes the Blower Motor itself, Climate Control Unit, Linear Controller, and Blower Resistor. Since 2 out of 4 components were already replaced, so they can be excluded from the List for now, leaving only the Controller, Resistor, and possible Wiring Damage.
The reason for the question above is that when the Blower is set to the Lowest Speed, the Linear Controller is essentially Bypassed, sending all the Current through the Blower Motor Resistor. If the Blower Motor works without issues on the Lowest Speed, and starts Shutting Off only when set to Higher Speeds, it would be safe to assume that there is an issue with a Linear Controller, which is basically a Transistor forced to work in Linear Mode, meaning that it is the one to dissipate all the Current that didn't get to the Blower Motor, usually in form of Heat, so even though it's rare, they can get damaged.
Hope this helps and best of luck!
